The Arkansas Closed is a USATT-sanctioned tournament that decides the state champions of table tennis in various events.  It will take place this year for the first time at the LRTTC playing facility at the Jim Dailey Fitness & Aquatic Center on Saturday, February 27, 2016.

Here is a note from tournament directory Eugene Atha:

"Several things are different this year. First, the Fitness Center does not allow food in the gym but there is a side room available to us where you can partake of your snacks & refuel. Also, this year we will have an official lunch break where pizza will be provided at no charge. The Fitness Center does charge spectators – that charge will be covered with tournament money.

Entry fees are similar to what they were last year except it will be more if you pay the day of the tournament. Payment can be made with cash, check or money order – not credit cards. If you have any questions be sure to let me know. If you find any errors on the entry please let me know so I can correct them.

In case you missed the USATT announcement, the membership rate structure has changed in several ways. First, the yearly memberships have gone up – as an example, for adults a one year membership went from $49 to $75 (see entry form for the other options.) But anyone, including players with ratings, can now use the playing permit – which of course also went up to $20. The USATT has also eliminated the rating fee of $7 so if someone only plays in 3 or less tournaments a year, it is cheaper for them to use the playing permit than what it has been in the past. For players who compete in 4 or more tournaments a year, the $75 membership is cheaper than what it has been in the past.

The Dailey Fitness Center charges $5 per person to use the facility  - this year we are adding a facility fee of $5 to the entry form everyone must pay. This is something that will be reviewed after the tournament."
